Thanks to the generous donations from loyal HKU Supporters like you, the "Friends of HKU Scholarship" was established to enable bilateral exchanges of undergraduate students from Hong Kong and the US.
This Scholarship also stands as a testament of strong ties between The University of Hong Kong and its alumni and friends in the US. It is the hope of Friends of HKU to expand the number of students benefiting through donation support.

Helen To Lai-ming, Bachelor of Arts & Bachelor of Education, HKU
"My whole-hearted thanks to you for your generous donation. My exchange experience at UC Berkeley was valuable and meaningful. I had the opportunity to meet many new friends from different parts of the world and I am very glad to have broadened my horizons so much by sharing our cultures with each other. This has not only enhanced my self-understanding, but also gave me a chance to learn more about HKU and Hong Kong."
James Ira Winder, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
"The generosity of Friends of HKU most surely is a testament to the pride HKU evokes in its past students. At HKU, I diversified my knowledge of architectural design with the special advantage of Hong Kong's position in East Asia. With this experience, I hope to become more competitive in my future career as an architect and I will also do my best to return the favour to future generations."
Carter Wu Siqi, Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science, HKU
"During my three-month short-term exchange study in UC Davis, I had every opportunity to learn the most recent developments in statistics and get acquainted with some of the top researchers in the field. Without your generosity, it would have been impossible for me to have had such a wonderful academic experience in the US. Your support has greatly encouraged and will continue to inspire me in my path to pursue academic excellence."
Cedrick Medoza-Tolentino, Cornell Law School
"To me, HKU is an ideal place to study abroad as it provided me with a better insight into some of the cultures and bodies of law I hope to work in. Although it's the New York City skyline that will occupy most of my late nights in the coming few years, Hong Kong is the city that will occupy my dreams. I hope to return to Hong Kong to continuing practising law in future."
Wu Yufeng, Bachelor of Economic and Finance, HKU
"By awarding me the scholarship, you have lightened my financial burden and allowed me to focus on my studies and volunteer services during my stay at the Columbia University. Furthermore, your generosity has also encouraged me to give back to the community and support students in need in the future."
